Number Bonds is a mental math app for kids built around one powerful idea: numbers are made of other numbers. When children see that 2 + 7, 5 + 4 and 6 + 3 all make 9, they stop counting on fingers and start thinking in numbers — the heart of mental arithmetic.
What are number bonds?
Number bonds are the pairs (and triples) that combine into a number. Knowing the bonds of 10 — 1+9, 2+8, 3+7, 4+6, 5+5 — turns harder sums into easy steps. It's a cornerstone of early maths teaching worldwide, and exactly what this app trains.

Why number bonds instead of memorising sums?
Bonds teach the structure of numbers, so children can derive unknown sums instead of recalling each one separately — the basis of real mental maths.

The app is designed primarily as a game to promote basic mental math skills, thus it goes in a simple left to right sequence and does not follow order of operations (PEMDAS or BEDMAS) to avoid complications for the young minds.
Along with mental math, it subconsciously develops several other important skills.
